Women of Science Event Offers Free, Family-Friendly Celebration at New York State Museum

(WRGB) — A free, family-friendly event celebrating women scientists will be held at the New York State Museum on March 21, 2026.

Kathleen Morehouse and Denise Mayer joined CBS6 this morning to share details about the upcoming Women of Science event, which will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. across all museum galleries.

The event will showcase female scientists and their contributions across various scientific fields. Visitors of all ages will have the opportunity to meet women scientists from the New York State Museum’s Division of Research and Collections, as well as other local scientists, and learn about their disciplines, current research projects, and collections.

The schedule includes hands-on educational activities, tabling with participating scientists, brief science talks, and interactive “Ask a Scientist” panels designed for families with younger children, teens, and adults.
